OCTOBER: a Berlin story

A few pictures of an amazing week of urban gardening and local empowerment that I had in Berlin at the end of last month and the beginning of this one.  Our spiritual home was the magical Prinzessinnengarten, a nomadic  urban vegetable garden and cafe found by Moritzplatz U-bahn station in Kreuzberg.

The week was one of adventures.  Of rooftop bees on Ritterstrasse; of community gardening on the Gleisdreieck; of ex-airports and blank canvases at Templehof; of tea in Mr Kilan’s treehouse & tales of his parents’ incredible wall defiance; of gorgeous green spaces, handsome vegetables & pretty flowers; of autumn leaves & sweeping Berlin views from an eleventh floor flat; and of some very inspiring people from across Europe and beyond.
